| Welcome to the APPA web site. The Association of Psychiatric Physican Assistants, Inc. (APPA) is a nonprofit organization of Physican Assistants who work in the area of mental health care. The APPA is the only officially recognized association for PA's in psychiatry and mental health by the American Academy of Physician Assistant. |
| MEMBERSHIP TYPES |
Membership in the Association shall be limited to Physician Assistants who work in a mental health care setting or those who have a special interest in this field and are in compliance with the membership criteria set forth by the Executive Committee and approved by the founding members. Each member shall be entitled to one vote in the general membership assembly and is eligible for serving on special interest sub-committees.
Section 2.
Classes of Membership!
These shall be the following classes of membership:
- Fellow Member: A PA who is NCCPA board certified and/or graduate of an
accredited PA program, who is also a member of AAPA, and is current with
annual dues.
- Fellow Member - Active members shall be NCCPA board certified/eligible Physician Assistants who currently work in a mental health care setting, and have less than three years of professional experience in the field of psychiatry. Active members may have privilege to vote and serve on committees of special interest.
- Member: A PA who is NCCPA board certified and/or a graduate of an accredited PA program, who is not also a member of AAPA, and is current with annual dues.
- Student member: A student in an accredited PA program, who is current with annual dues. A student member may not vote or hold an office.
- Affiliate member: A non-PA who is current with annual dues. An affiliate member may not vote or hold an office.
